I have become OBSESSED with coconut oil.
Coconut oil is one of the few foods that can actually be classified as a “superfood,” though it’s important to note that the group Cancer Research UK says, “the term ‘superfood’ is really just a marketing tool, with little scientific basis to it”.
Despite this, coconut oil’s unique combination of fatty acids can have profound positive effects on health. This includes fat loss, better brain function and various other amazing benefits (check out this article for more information).
I use coconut oil in my cooking. I’ve almost entirely replaced original PAM with PAM’s coconut oil spray. I melt a little and add it instead of butter to recipes. I’ve added it to my coffee, and can almost completely give up adding milk and sugar.
I use coconut oil to moisturize. I smooth some on my legs before shaving, and my legs seem to stay smooth longer than before. I also keep a little in a little container to use as a lip balm, especially during the winter. I’ve had a hard time with store-bought “clean” and “natural” lip balms. They all taste like petroleum jelly to me, which is not listed as an ingredient…so that’s kinda gross. Coconut oil doesn’t have that same taste.
