Day 11: Most Proud Moment

Day 11 of the 31 Day Blog Challenge: Most Proud Moment.

Pride can be really easy to have, and it can lead you down a slippery, slippery slope. Does that mean we should never be proud? Not at all! We just can’t let it take over our lives.

One of my most proud moments was back in high school (actually, a lot of them were in high school). I think of these moments when I need a pick-me up, or reassurance that I’m doing okay. Most of them have to do with people recognizing how hard I was working.

Other proud moments include my students graduating (at the high school and the 8th grade level), and I feel significantly less guilty about these ones because I’m not proud of myself. See, I’m not the one who got my students to pass and succeed. They are. In these moments, I am proud of all the work they did to get to this point. I’m proud that they are ready for the next stages of their lives, and for me, these are the most proud (and among the most sad) moments of my life.
