My Computer’s Acting Up…Again

Naturally, I have nothing to do today. So I planned on working on my job search. While my scholarship for graduate school covers most of my costs, I’m at a disadvantage coming out of two years of volunteering. I have little savings left, and two years of school to complete before I become a certified teacher.

Teaching is one of the things I am confident about. I know that I am a good teacher, and I don’t mean it in a cocky way. But my job search is suffering because I don’t know what else I’m good at.
And, in addition to that struggle, my computer keeps acting up.

I know…Personification isn’t normally my thing, but when it comes to my electronics, they can be so persnickety, I can’t help but treating them like children. I coddle them and talk to them sweetly most of the time, but sometimes, they just need to be reprimanded! Fortunately most of my electronics are “behaving” (aka “working correctly and as intended”) but for some reason my computer is just…well…I don’t even know.

It’s acting all slow, and keeps forcing programs to quit. It’s ignoring the existence of the internet that it’s enjoyed for the past TWO years, and all around just not working the way it usually does. I have a feeling I’m going to take my computer to a behavior specialist (aka the Apple Store’s Genius Bar personnel) and have them help me figure out what’s wrong.

The only thing that should be on there (other than applications that have been on there for ages) are my pictures…most of which I could actually (GASP) live without. I know…shocking in today’s world of constantly snapping and saving and sharing photos. Truth is, most of my photos are loaded to the cloud, or on here, or on my facebook page, so I’m not too worried about them. All of my music is on an external drive, and all of my documents are on a flash drive (thanks BofA for the freebie).

But I still need my computer to work, because I still have jobs to apply for, and I can’t do a lot of that on my iPad (best graduation gift ever…very convenient, except when you’re trying to apply for jobs, of course).

So keep your fingers crossed for me. I love my computer, but it’s supposed to be the terrible twos, not the failing fives! We should be over this attitude problem by now! (Um, computer, if you’re reading this…I love you! Please work xoxo).
