We are the product of history. We are the creators of history. To do one, we must know the other, at least, to do it well.
“We are the product of history.” What we do each day will be history. Most of it will never be recorded or remembered, but it is still history. It shapes each of us into who we are and who we will become. Our personalities depend upon our histories. The memories we have, the memories we forget, and the memories we fight to keep all play a major role in our future decision making processes. Because we did something one time, and things went wrong, we will do it differently the next time something similar comes up.
“We are the creators of history.” What we do makes history. The decisions we make, such as entering Iraq, will one day be considered historical moments of great importance, whether we agree with the move or not. The time we spend in science classes, or leadership classes will help affect the history of the world.
“To do one, we must know the other, at least, to do it well.” If we don’t understand history, then we will constantly make the same mistakes, over and over and over again. We need to have a basic comprehension of history in order to succeed in making our pasts worthwhile.
