LVs Running Scared…Raising Money and Awareness about the LV program

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you for visiting this fundraising page. Many of you are probably wondering exactly what Lasallian Volunteers is. Basically, it is a post-graduate volunteer program that allows young adults to offer their talents and skills to help those in need around the United States. They accept around 50 volunteers a year and place them around the United States in communities living with the Christian Brothers. The volunteers will work at schools, programs, and sites in the area helping people learn and explore and discover their abilities. It’s an amazing program and I am so grateful that I am a part of it.

Lasallian Volunteers is a non-profit organization, and relies on fundraising so that it can continue to provide these services. LVs Run has become a tradition in which the Volunteers choose to participate. We will all get together at a different site every year to run a 5k or half marathon. This year, we will be meeting up in Minneapolis, MN for the Halloween Weekend races. With 52 LVs, and a goal of $52,000, we have a long way to go.

This fundraising event is about more than just raising money. It’s a chance for the volunteers to raise awareness about what we are doing. The Lasallian Volunteer Program is giving me the opportunity to live in New York City and work as a tutor and campus minister at a high school. I get the opportunity to teach and help students with subjects that they find challenging (especially mathematics, which is my favorite!), and I can share my faith with them and encourage them to share theirs with others.

Now that you’ve heard a little about the program, and what it does for the people we serve and for the volunteers, please give any amount that you can. Every little bit helps!

Thank you, and God Bless,

Stephanie Carlsen
